Rummy How-To: Compare Hands at the Same Turn

Comparing an opening hand with a final-turn hand produces confusing lessons. The information and available time are different. Choose the same turn position and ask the same questions.
Record confirmed groups, realistic routes, isolated cards, and required structures still missing. Note the decision available then, but do not include cards that appeared later. This keeps hindsight from improving one hand unfairly.
Next compare choice quality. Did one hand offer a safe improvement while another required a narrow draw? Did either have a fallback? A hand is not automatically better because it looks tidier; its route should also survive an ordinary draw. Use several examples before drawing a conclusion. Turn repeated habits into one practice goal, and keep notes free of account details or private messages.
